What we deliver to those at St. John’s is
Abundant Life through Jesus Christ:
in divine service, education, and community.

Most people have far more than they need, but there’s still a sense that we don’t have enough. We buy more and more things but are never truly satisfied. Social media helps us stay in touch with anyone at any time, but we’re still hungry for deep human connection. We’re presented with all kinds of ideas every day, but so many of them are cheap and pointless.

At St. John’s, we cultivate a life of true abundance through our Savior, Jesus, who said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). The Christian life is one where God gives us all we need and more, and he remakes our hearts to enjoy it to the full. We gather in church services to receive God’s forgiveness and life, putting time and wealth into making those experiences second to none. We explore the richness of God’s word at all ages through education. And we reach out to our communities with open arms and homes, generously inviting others into an abundant life through Jesus Christ.

Welcome!

I’m Pastor Matt Moldstad. It’s been my joy and privilege to serve as pastor here at St. John’s in Frankenmuth. During my ministry I’ve enjoyed the variety of the pastoral role, allowing me to serve both young and old alike and every age in between—to be invited to the hospital or to baptize a newborn baby, to be involved with Catechism and youth work, to take young couples through marriage counseling and officiate at their wedding, to weekly lead all ages in the divine service and administer holy communion, to teach Bible Study, to be there in times of crisis, to counsel, to comfort, to visit those hospitalized or homebound, to grieve with those who have experienced a the loss of a loved—all while bringing them the comforting and live saving gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ.
